We came during lunchtime expecting a wait but when we opened the door there was nobody else eating, which obviously I red flag when eating on a beautiful sunny day in Charleston. Anyway we decided to go in and try it out. I am glad we did as it was very good food and the service was great.

I was looking for a sushi dinner and usually shy away from mixed nationality restaurants when good sushi is my goal. That said, I tried King Street Foods due to all the positive reviews and was very happy with everything I experienced. Green salad with ginger dressing was very fresh and large. Sushi was fresh and had a great rice to fish ratio, meaning fish pieces were large and rice was skinny. The service was great! As to the atmosphere, it is an informal smallish venue. Maybe twenty tables. They do have a 7 seat bar, with full bar offerings...thumbs up! I didn't go for the atmosphere, so it wasn't important to me. Everything was very clean and the servers were very good about cleaning up after patrons departed. The couple next to me at the bar seemed to enjoy their hibachi. I only ate the sushi option, which was great!

Outstanding authentic Thai food (and sushi) made from secret family recipes. The pork gyoza were very tasty, served with flavorful sauce. The homemade ginger salad dressing was the best we ever had. Warm friendly service by a delightful family from the Land of the Smiling People. Should become a Charleston favorite!

We arrived at 8:40 after flying in from the West Coast. We were ready for dinner and liked the look of the restaurant and menu. First impression - the restaurant is very clean and the staff is very welcoming. We ordered tuna sushi, won ton soup, and pineapple fried rice. Everything was very fresh. The tuna was perfect. The won ton soup had a wonderful broth with ramen, bean sprouts, chicken, shrimp, and uniquely delicious won tons. The pineapple fried rice was served in a pineapple bowl with fresh pineapple, chicken, shrimp, and cashews. It is flavored with yellow curry. Everything was a perfect blend of fresh ingredients and balanced spices. We have many Thai restaurants where we live and King Street beats them hands down! The atmosphere was pleasant and the staff are very attentive.

Really good! Everyone was really hard working and fast. The food was really good and went twice because of it! I would recommend everyone to check out the menu ahead of time, as they will try to take your order as soon as possible, even if you haven’t had a chance to look at the menu. Not a bad thing as I can imagine they are trying to be efficient, but just be prepared! The photos show the California roll, Rainbow roll, tofu vegetable fried rice and pad Thai!

Great Thai Spot in Charleston! The chicken basil (kra pao) was super tasty, the drunken noodles were delicious, and the fried rice was full of flavor. The green curry was just okay, but the sushi surprisingly turned out really good too! The service was excellent. They are very friendly and welcoming. The place is clean with a nice atmosphere. If you’re craving Thai food in Charleston, definitely check this place out!
